WINE PULL

Wine Pull

What is a Wine Pull? We ask that you donate a bottle(s) of wine valued at $25+. At the Gala, you can purchase a ticket for $25 to pull a bottle of wine (blind pull) and have the chance to get a bottle worth $25 or more. You will undoubtedly end up with a fantastic bottle!

How to donate to the Wine Pull: Wines can be donated by bottle, half case, and case. Every bottle can be different but must have a value of $25 or more and must be donated by April 21. 

If you would like to participate, you may pull from your own collections and drop off donated bottles to the front desk of Corlears, with a label saying "Gala 23 – Development." If you have questions or need assistance coordinating your donation, please feel free to contact Development@corlearsschool.org.

Alternatively, you may contact Manhattan Wine Company (646.712.8200 Ext. 2) and let them know what you would like to contribute to the Corlears School Gala (make sure to mention Corlears School). They will deliver the wines directly to the venue on the day of the event and offer 10% off your purchase.

Paddle Raise

After the Live Auction, we will be moving into a paddle raise, where all proceeds go to the Corlears Annual Fund.

What is the Annual Fund?

Like at most independent schools, tuition and other earned income only cover a fraction of the cost of running our school, so we fundraise to help close the gap. As a nonprofit, we are able to put donations to work alongside tuition dollars to buy classroom materials, implement equitable tuition levels for every family, fortify our building, send our teachers to professional development, and hire even more experts.

Guest Speaker

Featuring Amanda Stern

We are thrilled to announce that our guest speaker at this year's Gala is Amanda Stern – an accomplished author, speaker, mental health advocate, and Corlears alum.

Her extensive body of work includes several children's books and a memoir titled Little Panic, which sheds light on her experience growing up with an undiagnosed panic disorder. Amanda has been invited to speak and share her stories at various events and podcasts, and recently, she appeared on The Moth mainstage. We are honored to have Amanda share her insights on mental health and her special connection with Corlears.

Tickets and sponsorships help us cover the cost of the Gala. Below are options that allow you to both host your family and friends, and support the attendance of the entire community, including our amazing teachers and staff.

  • Individual Tickets: $350 (Early bird $300 — available now until March 13)
  • Sponsor a Faculty/Staff Member: $325- All Faculty/Staff celebrate with the community free of charge, but we need your support to help cover the cost!
  • Reserve a Table: $3,500 — Host a table for you and your friends (seats 10)
  • Alumni Ticket (21+ years old): $200

  • $500:  Logo on the website and sponsorships page of program
  • $1,000:  Logo on the website, in program, and on-screen during the event
  • $5,000:  Logo on website and on-screen during the event, along with a special shoutout during the program and website sent out via text to all attendees

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the event be indoors?

Yes! There are plenty of outdoor areas to sit and have a cocktail if the weather permits, but we are having a seated dinner indoors. We have the ability to keep doors open that look out onto the Hudson River. 

What are your COVID-19 policies?

The venue requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination status. For proof of vaccination, you can use:

  • CDC Vaccination Card. A digital photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable.
  • NYC Vaccination Record or another official immunization record, including from your health care provider. A digital photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable. 
  • NYC COVID Safe App: Android | iOS. You can upload to this app a photo of your CDC vaccination card or another official record, along with your photo ID.
  • CLEAR Health Pass: Android | iOS. You can use the digital vaccine card option in the CLEAR app if you are 18 and older and are fully vaccinated.
  • Excelsior Pass (or Excelsior Pass Plus). To use this app, you will need the phone number or email address associated with your New York vaccination record. If you are unable to use this app, try one of the other options listed above.
Are we required to wear masks?

We are not requiring masks during the event.

What happens if COVID-19 rates begin to rise again?

We continually monitor the situation and will give an update before the event if things need to change.
